



Underwater Construction Specialists, UCS, a commercial underwater construction dive company, based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, has been owned and operated by Cooper Jones, since 1997. UCS conducts underwater inspections, underwater repair, removal and install of underwater equipment and structures, using a variety of underwater power and hand tools, such as drills, chain saws, sledgehammers, underwater burning and welding equipment. UCS inspects and repairs dock walls, plant intakes and outflows, underwater pipelines, cables, vessels, bridge foundations and other structures below the water line.
The UCS dive team recovers sunken objects, takes test samples and assesses the condition of vessels or structures, by means of underwater video or other related underwater equipment. UCS removes underwater obstructions using pneumatic or hydraulic power tools, set or guide placement of underwater pilings to provide support for structures such as docks, bridges, cofferdams or platforms. UCS performs underwater concrete surface repair and underwater welding jobs for a multitude of clients and an array of activities related to search, salvage, recovery and cleanup operations, vessel maintenance, marina maintenance, barge repair, barge inspections, propeller repair, bridge inspections, bridge repair, bridge maintenance, underwater vessel hull cleaning and many other underwater tasks pursuant to each individual client's request.
UCS divers use their knowledge and strong understanding of AASHTO Code, related to design and construction of bridges, throughout every bridge repair and bridge inspection. UCS divers use brave and creative ingenuity to uncover the most efficient, effective, budget friendly solution for all underwater dive projects, while maintaining safety excellence and adhering to all OSHA requirements for both the dive team and the client's team of workers as well. UCS conducts underwater construction projects for clients in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, New Orleans, Arkansas, Kentucky and has traveled to underwater construction sites in many other states across the country to provide services for an array of clients in a multitude of industries.
